Milledge Miller

February 15, 1927 — January 24, 2020


Milledge Ralph Miller of Carmi passed away January 24th, 2020. He was born in White County, IL on February 15th 1927, the son of John Milledge and Ollie (White) Miller. He married Betty Agnes Vaupel in Morganfield, KY on October 18th, 1947 and she preceded him in death on February 28th, 1983. He was a life-long farmer and also retired from Chrysler. Ralph was a life member of Enfield Masonic Lodge #677 and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars White County Post #3851 in Carmi. He served in the Korean War as an electronics technician in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. Ralph was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Korean Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, the United Nations Medal, and the Korean Service Medal issued by the Republic of South Korea.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  brothers William and Hayward,sister, Helen Francis, a son Robert, and his wife Betty.

Ralph is survived by children Donald (Jane) Miller of Enfield; Barbara Shepherd of Crossville, TN; Tommy Miller of Crawfordsville, IN. Grandchildren Douglas Miller of Carmi; Matthew Miller of Carmi; Ginger  Beavers of Carmi; Corey Shepherd of Kotzebue, AK; Kyleigh (Zack) Grant of Murfreesboro,TN; Cameron Shepherd of Cookeville, TN; Dalton Miller of Nashville, TN; Logan Miller of Crawfordsville,IN; Bryce Miller of Crawfordville, IN. Great-grandchildren Madison Miller of Carmi; Everleigh Miller of Carmi and a special friend Marilyn Baum of Carmi.

Graveside Services and burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 29th, 2020 in Enfield Cemetery following cremation, with Braden Willis officiating and Full military rites by the Carmi American Legion and VFW.  Campbell Funeral Home of Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
