Obituary

      Mary Lou Cozart, 74, of Norris City passed away at 3:00 p.m., Monday, September 20, 2021 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi.  She was born in Eldorado, IL on August 14, 1947 the daughter of Louis C. and Freda Marie (English) Talley.  Mary Lou married Ivan E. Cozart on April 29, 1966.  She graduated from Norris City-Omaha High School  in 1965.  Mary Lou worked as the office manager for Country Companies agent Ray Melton in Carmi.  She was a member of Union Community Church and attended Ditney Ridge Baptist Church.  Her greatest joy and passion was for her grandchildren.

      Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ivan; two sons, Mark (Amy) Cozart of Norris City and Scott (Sherri) Cozart of Greenwood, IN; a sister, Linda Sue (Walter) Stokes of Norris City; two granddaughters, Riley (Marcus) Niehaus and Madison Cozart; a great-grandson, Maddox Niehaus; a niece, Angie (Adam) Deal; a great-niece, Hadley Deal; and a special boss and friend, Ray Melton.

       Funeral services for Mary Lou Cozart, 74, of Norris City will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.  Burial will be in Powell Cemetery in Norris City.  Visitation will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made in Mary Lou's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.
