Martha L. Austin, 68, of Carmi passed away at 12:50 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Fairfield, IL on April 28, 1951 the daughter of Bernard Ray and Ella Jean (Bickell) Combs. Martha was a 1969 graduate of Norris City High School. Martha worked in many administrative positions over the years, but mostly recently with William's Enterprises in Carmi. She was a member of Enfield United Methodist Church, and enjoyed scuba diving, playing golf, snow skiing, being a license pilot and flying and tending to the plants around her home and landscaping. Martha was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and loved her dogs.
Surviving are two sons, Kevin Austin of Carmi; Brian (Stacy) Austin of Mt. Vernon, IN; six grandchildren, Breckan, Brylie and Brennan Austin, Kayla (Brandon) Weaver, and Kyle and Kasen Austin; two great-grandchildren, Ember Shyne and Cain; her long time companion, Stan Williams and his daughters, Shauna Williams of Carmi, Carmen Jagoe of Louisville, KY and Julie (Danny) Mitchell, of Wadesville, IN and grandchildren, Whitney Williams, Alex (Alex) Jagoe, Lindsey Jagoe (Brent Vorst) and their son, Oliver, Ashley (Phil) Roberts and their children Keely and Kye, Lindsey (Chris) Alvey, Matthew (Jessie) Mitchell and their children, Leo and Olive and Alex Mitchell; a sister, Linda (Darrell) Rogers of Vermillion, OH; two brothers, Jack Combs of Carmi and Warren (Debbie) Combs of Dewitt, IL; a half-sister, Brenda Riek of Covington, KY; a step mother, Helen Combs and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Martha L. Austin, 68, of Carmi will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville. Visitation will be on Monday, March 2, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Memorial contributions may be made in Martha's memory to Enfield United Methodists Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
