Kathryn Obermeier

Kathryn Marie Obermeier, 85, of Norris City, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Enfield Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.  She was born on April 1, 1936, the daughter of Arthur C. and Katherine (Kinzel) Shubert. Kathryn married John Fred Obermeier on September 10, 1955, and he survives. Kathryn was employed by the Norris City school system for 30 years where she worked as the school secretary.  She attended Norris City United Methodist Church and served on the Norris City Village Board for four years.

Kathryn is survived by her husband, John Obermeier of Norris City, IL; three daughters, Jan (David) Carroll of Norris City, IL, Kathi (Jon) Graf of Pinetop, AZ, and Martha (Ken) Bohnenkamp of Oregon, OH; grandchildren, Chad Carroll, Kasi Carroll,  Keri Carroll, Jerod (Ali) Bohnenkamp, Joshua Bohnenkamp, and Jessica (Sam) Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Lucy and Graham Bohnenkamp.  She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Bill Shubert, Glynn Shubert, Wade Shubert, Arthur K. Shubert, Mildred Witte, Leona Koenig, Lavon Campbell and Alverna Campbell.

Funeral services for Kathryn Obemeier will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.  Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norris City.  Visitation will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Memorial contributions may be made in Kathryn's memory to the Norris City United Methodist Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
