Jeanna Funkhouser, 72, of Hermitage, TN, passed away at 3:15 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at TriStar Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, TN. She was born in White County, IL on March 3, 1947 the daughter of Kenneth Wayne and Alpha Eleanor (Orman) Funkhouser. Jeanna attended Eastern IL University where she received a BS in Business Education. She received a master's degree in counseling from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She was a business high school teacher then counselor in Collinsville, IL for 35 years before retiring. Jeanna’s passion were her niece & nephew; her great niece & 7 great nephews; and the Southern Gospel Music Industry.
Jeanna is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Darrell Abby, of Bedford, TX; niece, Tracy (Tim) Lindvall, of Conroe, TX; nephew, Brian (Brooke) Abby, of Pearland, TX; one great niece and seven great nephews, Abby, Andrew, Brandon, Connor, Dustin Lindvall and Benjamin, Braydon, and Brody Abby.
Funeral services for Jeanna Funkhouser will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2020 at North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi, IL. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jeanna's memory to Southern Gospel Hall of Fame & Museum, P.O. Box 6729 Sevierville, TN 37864 or they will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
