Glenda Poole

Glenda Sue Poole, 82, of Carmi passed away at 3:56 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Wabash Christian Village.  She was born in New Harmony, IN on February 25, 1938 the daughter of Harold Raymond and Wilma (Goodman) Redman.  Glenda married John Alex Poole in 1954 and he preceded her in death on February 12, 1998.  Glenda retired from the Egyptian Health Department where she had worked as a receptionist and secretary.  One of her favorite hobbies was refinishing furniture and crocheting.  Glenda was a member of Tennessee Bend Baptist Church and attended Plainview General Baptist Church.

Glenda is survived by a daughter, Sheila (Curt) Brown of Strasburg, IL; two sons, Tom (Linda) Poole of Carmi and John Alex Poole, Jr. of Odessa, TX; a brother, Jim (Sandy) Redman of Paducah, KY; eight grandchildren, Sonya Homann, Lauren Fish, Evan Hart, Valerie Reum, Jacob Poole, Josh Owen, Keegan Poole and McKenzie Miller; 11 great grandchildren with another one on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews  She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Redman and Wilma Johnson, husband, John Alex Poole; daughter, Paula Hart; brother, Don Redman and a sister, Carolyn Hooper.

Funeral services for Glenda Sue Poole, 82, of Carmi will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.  Burial will be private.  A visitation will be held on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Glenda's memory to Wabash Christian Village and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home. In accordance with CDC and State recommendations social distancing will be observed and masks will be required.
