C.E. Dale

C.E. Dale, 82, of Carmi, passed away on Sunday February 28, 2021 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi.  He was born on October 5, 1938, the son of Wilburn and  Mable (Bruce) Dale.  C.E. graduated from Norris City High School in 1956 and soon after joined the United States Navy and was stationed in Rhode Island. He married Janice Felty on August 1, 1959 and she survives. C.E. worked for the City of Carmi and later went to work as an Electrical Lineman for 20 years for IBEW Union #702.  He loved to fish and enjoyed playing and spending time with his grandkids.

C.E. is survived by his wife Janice Dale of Carmi, IL.; two sons, Kelly (Carrie) Dale of Bloomington, IL. and Kendall (Mendy) Dale of Carmi, IL.; a daughter, Katrena (Mark) Koontz of Carmi, IL.; four grandchildren, Alex  and Nolin Dale, Keely Koontz and Payton Dale; and two sisters, Betty Leighty of Lawrenceville, IL. and Barbara Anderson of Bloomington, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wilburn Dale Jr.; and one sister, Delores Break.

Funeral Services for C.E. Dale, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 3, 2021 at  Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be at North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi.  Friends and family may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Campbell Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions can be made in C.E.'s memory to Wabash Christian Village and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In accordance with CDC and IDPH recommendations, social distancing will be observed and wearing masks will be required.
