Aleta Heern

Aleta K. Heern, 61, of Carmi passed away at 3:43 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021 at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt.Vernon, IL.  She was born on January 30, 1960, in Carmi, IL the daughter or John Wayne and Wilma Faye (Conrad) Karch.  Aleta graduated from Carmi Community High School in 1978 and went on to graduate from Lockyear Business College.  She retired in May 2019 from the City of Carmi Light and Water Office after 34 years of service.  Aleta was a member of the First Christian Church in Carmi and the Norris City Quilters Guild. She enjoyed quilting and stamping

Surviving are her son, Jonathon Heern of Carmi; a brother, Mike (Kathi) Karch of Evansville, IN; and two nephews, Damon Horn and Andrew Karch.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Wilma Karch.

Funeral services for Aleta K. Heern, 61, of Carmi will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Carmi.  Burial will be in North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Aleta's memory to Campbell Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
